How can a women know if she is at a risk of breast cancer?

Generally, what a woman is usually advised is to self-examine her breast regularly or get them clinically reviewed with a medical professional. Young women may go for an ultrasound, while mammography is advised just for women above 35 years old. Objective detection of cancer of the breasts in young women in the beginning is challenging as young females have dense breast development.

A new study suggests breasts milk as a potential bio-marker that can help detect breast cancer at an early stage. This can also predict if a woman is at likelihood of developing the cancer later in her life. Biochemical monitoring of protein markers is one of the actual ways of detecting breast cancer. This studies different types of body fluids such as nipple aspirate and ductal lavage liquid, tear, urine, saliva and breast milk. This latest study by University Massachusetts Amherst at United States, Experts investigated biochemical signatures of breast cancer that are detectable in breast milk. Breast dairy samples from women were collected. These were obtained from women with and without cancer of the breasts as well those who had been diagnosed later.
